Is Sun?

Just over a month, I finally decided to get off the 5.0 version of Java and the SDK. After taking a few weeks testing their virtues, turned to the official website of Sun to seek information from the API, and I noticed the state of development of Java 6 , better known as Mustang.

early versions of Mustang and the future J2SE 6.0, are available for download for about a month and already there is great expectation for the final version is released, which is scheduled for summer 2006 .

Is not this a bit early to get version 6? Most people I know who develop in Java using version 1.4, and most of the companies I've worked this version is also used, and often have many problems to migrate applications that were made for version 2 . Furthermore certification Developer version 5.0 is too new for people to dare to get it, and usually opt for the 1.4, because the existing material is much higher. So why so soon?

is true that Java is better in many aspects, such as virtual machine performance (which was faster in version 5), and that can be launched quasi compatible with previous versions, but there will always be fear of change, and more when they occur so quickly. Related Links

O'Reilly says that sales of his books were already Ruby greater than that of Python and last year they have also recorded a decrease of 4% in the books of Java and a 16% growth in C #
