Practical Experiences with Java certification Java certification

After
a post on Slashdot relating to our blog, there have been a lot of comments about the usefulness or Java certifications. Here you have one that caught my attention, and that can help motivate people walking undecided:

I'm from Madrid, Studio 4 º of Computer Engineering, and after having studied at the school several subjects related to Java I I decided to get some certification in this platform. I got two, one as a Java programmer and developer 1.4 and other web components (servlet, JSP) in 1.4, both were approved with over 95% of note. The day after getting the second certification I sent my resume by infojobs several companies, at 24 hours had arranged to hire two queries. I signed with the first offered it to me, and without experience and with the race still in the middle (then was 3 º) I was hired by 18,000 euros gross per year. Just over a year and 3 months later my salary is 25000 euro in annual gross, which I think is not bad for someone as little more than a year of experience. My experience is that certifications have opened many doors. Related Links
