CLIMATE CHANGE ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION BY OZONE DESTRUCTION
Climate change induced by human activity, means that the average global temperature rose 0.6 degrees S.XX. The average global temperature will rise between 1.4 and 5.8 degrees between 1990 and 2100. In the same period, the average sea level rise between 0.09 and 0.88 meters. The increase of the twentieth century has not been in any of the last ten centuries.
Climate change will accelerate the emergence of infectious diseases, such as tropical, they find conditions favorable for expansion, even in northern areas. The World Health Organization warned that it is likely that local changes in temperature and precipitation create conditions more favorable for the insects that transmit infectious diseases such as malaria or dengue.
The atmosphere acts as a trap heat and this increases greenhouse gas concentrations as CO2. Human activities, deforestation and, above all, the burning of fossil fuels increase the presence of this gas in the air. The atmospheric concentration of CO2 has increased by 31% since 1750.
The snow and ice cover has decreased by 10% since the late 60's. Similarly, there is a reduction of the glaciers along the S.XX. Increased sea surface temperature and sea level between 0.1 and 0.2 m. in the twentieth century (and which will increase threat of flooding to certain countries). Also recorded changes in rainfall, the cloud cover and the pattern of occurrence of phenomena such as El Nino warm current, has become more common. Such an increase may lead to an increased incidence of waterborne diseases like cholera and related toxins, such as shellfish poisoning.
The only way to curb climate change is to drastically reduce emissions of greenhouse gases like CO2. You have to push governments and businesses worldwide, basically, to reduce CO2 emissions.
Incineration of waste is a major source of pollution since it emits highly toxic substances into the atmosphere and also produces toxic ash. To pollute, then, the air we breathe, water we drink and our food, incineration seriously affects our health.
Among the highlights, mainly toxic compounds, heavy metals and dioxins. The latter are extremely toxic, persistent and cumulative throughout the food chain. Are carcinogenic substances that alter the immune, hormonal, reproductive and nervous.
Consequently, businesses and governments must invest their financial and personal efforts to develop alternatives.
